The Metropolis Hall was opened in October 2008 as a multifunctional studio suitable for television. It is directly connected to the Babelsberg Film Park. The architecture of the Metropolis Hall is inspired by the film studios of the early days.

The name is based on the film “Metropolis” by Fritz Lang. The monumental silent film from 1927 was largely shot in the Babelsberg film studios.
